FYL helps to reopen the doors at The Academy of Music for the Blind

Known as AMB for short, the Academy has been providing an arts education to blind students in the Los Angeles area for over a decade. The only school of its kind in the country, they specifically address the educational, social, and physical needs of talented blind music students so that they can fully develop their unique talents and be prepared for integration into the workplace or other educational settings.

A mother of one of AMB’s students wrote to us a few months ago to let us know that AMB was hit with a sudden financial crisis and had been forced to close its doors. Within a few weeks, Find Your Light had awarded them the funds to reopen the school and get these kids the education they deserve.

Please watch this video made by Chris Groban, as we captured the students, teachers, and parents at their first session after reopening.
