Growing up, Music was an integral part of my life and our family. My mother played the piano, my aunt the violin and I learned to play the trumpet at age 8. I took lessons from the legendary Ziggy Elman and was first chair and solo trumpet with a band that toured Europe and twice performed in the Rose Parade. Although I ultimately chose a career in business, I worked my way through college playing in a quartet.
Experience as a profit center managing partner and serving on 3 nonprofit Boards has helped me to appreciate the complexity and challenges of managing a nonprofit organization. Helping to recruit strong leadership for the Find Your Light Foundation has been instrumental in tripling our grants over the past 5 years and establishing a solid investment portfolio that assures our continuation.
I am particularly proud of having performed a trumpet solo on Josh’s latest album, Cinematics.
